Fire Rated Safes:
Fire safes provide fire protection for your belongings in the safe for a limited time.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is an independent organization for evaluating
safes. UL tests the safes under some conditions and then rates them upon the test’s results.
Therefore, the rating can tell us for how long this safe can withstand a fire, without any
damage to its content. Most of the fire rated safes have a UL rating of one to two
hours fire rating. There are more ratings available by European organizations
and the manufacturers themselves.
